- Drive with your car door locked and be alert to your surroundings.
- Always leave a space between your car and the vehicle in front. Be aware of vehicles traveling too close behind you. If you are bumped from behind, pull over in a well-lit area when there are other people. Wind your window down and try not to leave your car. Don't drive off unless you are in extreme danger.
- Never leave the keys in the ignition when leaving your car, even for a second.
- If threatened, hand over the keys. Do nothing to anger the attackers.
